Finding Your Way Around Deer Lake Farmstead
Deer Lake Farmstead is small on purpose — just 19 extra-large sites on the south shore of quiet, non-motorized Deer Lake, with farm fields behind the property and Malmo Bay on Mille Lacs less than a mile up the road. The park map above shows how it all lays out.
Because every site is 4,800+ square feet, the layout feels more like a small neighborhood than a grid of pads. There is real distance between sites, room for outdoor living, and no sense of being packed in.
What You Will Find on the Property
The clubhouse, bathhouse with showers and restrooms, and on-site laundry sit within an easy walk of the sites. The community fire ring is a natural gathering spot in the evening, and the T-dock on Deer Lake is where the swimming, paddling, and panfishing happen. High-speed fiber internet reaches the sites, the clubhouse porches, and the fire ring.
Getting Here

Reading the Deer Lake Farmstead Park Map
A few things the map makes obvious that a photo does not. First, the scale: at 4,800+ square feet, each site has genuine room around it — this is not a grid of pads. Second, the waterfront: the property runs along the south shore of Deer Lake, so the dock is a short walk from anywhere in the park. Third, the setting: farm fields sit behind the sites, which is where the quiet comes from.
Mille Lacs is less than a mile away via Malmo Bay, so the big lake is a few minutes out even though you cannot see it from your site. That separation is the whole idea — big-lake access, small-lake calm.

Where the Sites Sit
The park runs along the south shore, which means the lake is the front yard and the farm fields are the back. Sites toward the water put you closest to the T-dock; sites set back trade a few steps for a little more privacy against the fields. Neither is a bad draw — at 4,800+ square feet, none of them feel tight.
The clubhouse, bathhouse, and laundry cluster centrally so nothing is a long walk. The community fire ring is where people tend to end up after dark. With only 19 sites total, you will know your neighbors by the second weekend whether you planned to or not.
If you are weighing one site against another, call us. We would rather talk it through than have you guess from a drawing.
