When you want the big water, Malmo Bay on Mille Lacs is less than a mile up the road. That combination is unusual: you get world-class Mille Lacs walleye fishing, boating, and lakeside dining within minutes, then come back to a lake where the loudest thing is your own paddle. Most parks near Mille Lacs give you one or the other. Here you get both.
On-Site Amenities
The property keeps things simple and comfortable: a clubhouse for gathering out of the weather, a bathhouse with showers and restrooms, on-site laundry, a community fire ring, and a T-dock on Deer Lake for swimming, paddling, and fishing off the end.

Deer Lake Farmstead is about 105 miles from Minneapolis — under two hours in normal traffic. Close enough that the drive does not eat your weekend, far enough that it actually feels like getting away. For guests coming from the Cities, that distance is a big part of why this location works.
Malmo, Isle, Wahkon, and Garrison are all a short drive for groceries, dining, bait, and supplies, and the Mille Lacs and Aitkin County trail networks open up ATV and snowmobile riding depending on the time of year.
